Splitcoaststampers has partnered with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for their third annual Hope You Can Cling To card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer.  I made this card for the first challenge which is “Show Me What You Are Made Of” this being what we are made of artistically.  When I make a card my favorite color medium is Copic Sketch Markers.  I also like using digital stamps allowing me access to all kinds of images.  In addition, I really enjoy the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  In this particular card I have applied all three of my favorite applications-Copic Sketch coloring & blending, using a digital image and one of the many sketch challenges.  I think this card has a great message for that someone in mind who has been affected by breast cancer.

This was my second attempt to create a card for the Split Coast Stamper‘s Sketch Challenge.  I discarded my first try which was a complete disaster.  This card turned out pretty well.  So I guess it was worth all the frustration.  I used a stamp from a Stampin Up set called Punch Pals.  After stamping image with Stampin Up Pacific Point Ink, I cut out the image with my Scallop Punch also a Stampin Up product. Panels were made from Pizazz designer paper and Stampin Up Whisper White cardstock.  Embossed large panel with my Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.  Punched a piece of designer paper and applied to the center of scalloped image.  When I get ready to send out my Christmas cards for this year, this card will go to that someone in mind with special holiday wishes.

Found this great Bo Bunny Back To Backs designer paper.  Reminded me of a stamp set I had called Trendy Trees from Stampin Up.  I used both the designer paper and a tree from Trendy Trees along with a sentiment from Tim Holtz‘s Vintage Collection for my take on Wednesday’s Split Coast Stampers’ Sketch Challenge. This card is really more of a clean and simple card but sometimes you just feel like keeping it simple.   I thought it turned out really well in coordinating the paper with the stamp. After uploading my card into the sketch challenge gallery, I received a comment from one of the members that surprised me.  She thought I had made my own designer paper with my stamps.  I guess that is how good my match up was.  This card could be used for a multitude of reasons for celebrating someone.  I am sure I will find that particular someone in mind when the time presents itself.

Here is my take on this weeks sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers.  I bought this stamp set at a local store a short while back.  The set is one of Tim Holtz‘s Visual Artistry Collection and I got it for a steal.  Had no idea how I would use it but when I saw this week’s challenge I thought it would work well with it.  I like how this card turned out.  Did a lot of distressing with Tim Holtz‘s Distress Inks.  Paper pieced the butterflies and applied distressed ink to them also.  The sentiment in this set was one of the things that sold me besides the fact that the set was really marked down.  When I made this I had no one in mind to give it to.  However, later I needed a Birthday Card for one of the girls in my card class.  So Brenda you turned out to be that someone in mind.  Hope you liked it!

Ring In The Season

Liked the way this card turned out.  One of those simple yet clean cards.  Used the Split Coast Stamper‘s Sketch Challenge for the first week in September to guide me.  Stamp set is from Stampin Up called Bells & Boughs.   Stamped images with Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  Card stock is Whisper White and Really Red from Stampin Up.  Designer paper was just some miscellaneous scrapbook paper I had on hand.  I chose this dp because it had a touch of blue which ties in with the blue berries I used in the boughs.   This Christmas card will be filed with other completed holiday cards for future use for that someone in mind.

My husband and I recently took a trip to Colorado for a family reunion.  While I was there I went to several craft stores.  Picked up the Sizzix embossing folder I used in this card.   I made this card for the Split Coast Stampers’ Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge.  Also, when I was in Colorado I bought some coredination paper so that I could sand the  raised embossing to make the leaves stand out.  Used the Stampabilities circle and lace dies and my Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  For the sentiment I used a vellum sticker and attached it to some vanilla card stock.  Applied Rangers distressed ink to give it a little rustic look.  Also added bronze Stickles to the leaves to add a little sheen.  This is one of those cards that could be used for almost any occasion with that someone in mind.

Here is my submission for today’s Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenge.  I used another digital image stamp I purchased  from La La Land called Fanci Marci.  Also used Stampabilities Pendant Die and Stampin Up Eyelet Border Punch. The clouds are also a die from Papetry Ink.  The blue background paper was already dry embossed when purchased.  Once again, I practiced coloring with my Copic Sketch Markers and this was the best color image I came up with. I am improving but need to continue practicing.   Didn’t have anyone particular in mind to send this card to, but will surely in the near future I will  find some sweet little lass  who is celebrating a special day.

Quinlan, one of my many nephews was the youngster I had in mind when I made this card.  His birthday is coming up and I believe he will be four years old.  I used a digital image from La La Land called Luca With Truck.  I found this digital image when I was looking online for a tutorial in coloring faces and hair with Copic markers.  I printed out several of these images and have been practicing coloring.  This image turned out pretty well so I thought I would use it in a birthday card for Quinlan.  Cut an oval shape out of some scrap booking paper.  Used my Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder and placed it behind the oval shape.  Punched a red and white Martha Stewart cupcake staggering the red over the white to give a shadow type affect.  Added sprinkles on the cupcake with a white gel pen.  This was a fun card to make and I hope will please Quinlan.

I made this card with someone very special in mind, my dearest friend and neighbor Marilyn.  One Christmas I made a card for her with Oswalda (name of digital image from Squigglefly) holding presents.  She loved Oswalda and was delighted with the card.  I found another image of her and just knew I needed to download it and use it to make her Birthday card.  So here it is.  I hope she will like it.  Happy Birthday, dear friend.

There is a gal in my park that is known as the Sunshine Lady.  She sends cards to the sick and those that just need cheering up.  I supply the cards for her and she writes inspirational words of encouragement and sends it to those who need a little boost.  Her birthday is coming up so I thought I would make today’s Split Coast Stampers‘ Sketch Challenge card just for her.  The image is a Cornish Heritage Farms free digital stamp that I have colored with my favorite medium copic sketch markers.  I used  the framed tulip embossing folder from Stampin Up as the background panel.   Also used from Stampin Up are punches for the sentiment and branches from the SU bird punch.  When making this card Doris was the my inspiration and the someone in mind.  Happy Birthday Doris.  Your the greatest!
